Investigating -
At approximately 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 17, IT Services migrated the directory.uchicago.edu and reviewers.uchicago.edu sites and performed an update to their DNS. We expected the impact of this DNS change to be minimal and isolated to a short (5 minute) timeframe after the change, however some users have been experiencing issues reaching these sites from off-campus connections through certain Internet Service Providers (ISPs). Currently, of the two main ISPs in the Chicago region, Xfinity remains impacted while AT&T does not. We expect other impacted ISPs may be impacted as well and that they will pick-up the new DNS settings within the next 24 hours.
Users impacted by this DNS change can either wait for the change the propagate through their ISPs infrastructure or utilize CVPN from off-campus to access the Directory sites.
IT Services will periodically test known impacted ISPs and update when the change has propagated.
