Resolved - The power outage affecting 5855 S University Ave (President's House) has been resolved.

IT Services is working with Facilities to resolve remaining issues.

Identified - The power outages affecting 5706 S University Ave (Reynolds Club), 1131 E 57th (Hutchinson Commons), 1103 E 57th St (Erman Biology), and 1155 E 58th St (Oriental Institute) have been resolved and all services restored.

The power outage affecting 5855 S University Ave (President's House) has not yet been resolved. As a result, telephone, wireless, and wired network connectivity are currently unavailable in that area.

IT Services is working with Facilities and ComEd to resolve the power issues.

Investigating - A power outage has been reported at 7:38 AM affecting 5706 S University Ave (Reynolds Club), 1131 E 57th (Hutchinson Commons), 1103 E 57th St (Erman Biology), 1155 E 58th St (Oriental Institute), 5855 S University Ave (President's House) . As a result, telephone, wireless, and wired network connectivity are currently unavailable in that area. IT Services is working with Facilities Services to investigate.

Resolved - Over the course of the past week, IT Services and campus IT partners have assisted the majority of impacted users with the restoration of their devices. Although some devices may remain impacted, they do not appear to currently be in-use for a variety of factors - vacations, leaves, etc.

IT Services and campus IT partners will continue to assist uses encountering the remnants of this issue. Please contact your local desktop support or call IT Services at 773.702.5800.

Identified - Overnight, starting between midnight and 1 a.m., the University’s anti-malware service, CrowdStrike, pushed a faulty update to Windows devices, which prompted a blue screen error. If your Windows device shows this error, restart it. If a restart does not work, please contact your local desktop support or call IT Services at 773.702.5800.

Resolved - The power and network outages have been resolved as of shortly before 8:00 a.m. Voice, wireless and wired network systems have recovered and service has resumed. If you are still experiencing issues, please contact IT Services at 773-702-5800.

Identified - A power outage was reported at approximately 6:30 a.m, affecting many buildings on the periphery of the main quad area as well as some other areas. As a result, telephone, wireless, and wired network connectivity were unavailable in that area during the power outage. Power was restored to most buildings, however some may remain with partial power.

In buildings with partial power, some networking equipment may not recover properly once power is/was restored and partial outages to telephone, wireless, and wired networks remain. The current buildings affected with partial outages include:

Saieh Hall for Economics (5757 South University Avenue)
Green Hall (5848 South University Avenue)
Harper Memorial Library (1116 East 59th Street)
Beecher Hall (5848 South University Avenue)
Edelstone Center (6030 South Ellis Avenue)
Eckhart Hall (5734 S University Avenue)
5740 South Woodlawn Avenue)

IT Services and Facilities Services are working to restore normal power and networking in those buildings. Please contact IT Services at 773.702.5800 if issues persist with telephone, wireless, or wired network connectivity in other locations.

Resolved - A faulty security update caused several services to fail overnight, starting between midnight and 1 a.m. AURA, Business Objects reporting, and cEikon were affected, among others. Most services were fully recovered by 4 a.m.; all are expected to be up and running by start of business.
