Resolved - IT Services identified an overnight change to the network replacing old hardware, which was reverted to restore service. Major services which were affected included campus dining, AURA, Orbit reporting, and parking. Services began to recover around 8:20 a.m. and IT Services confirms full recovery as of 8:30 a.m.

Investigating - Beginning at approximately 7:45 AM, the University began experiencing a partial service outage in the 6045 Data Center that is affecting access to some IT Services operated, on-campus systems and services. Engineers from IT Services are investigating the situation. More information will be shared as it becomes available concerning specific systems impacted.

Update - Google has begun mitigating the issues in Google Cloud (https://status.cloud.google.com/), and Box Services have begun to recover. Box continues to be actively engaged in working with Google to ensure a prompt recovery.

Identified - Box has identified that the issue is due to an ongoing set of Google cloud (https://status.cloud.google.com/) issues, Box services like Notes, Uploads and Downloads are seeing significant impact. Box is actively engaged with their Cloud service provider and are partnering with them to prioritize recovery of services, In parallel, Box continues investigating all means possible to provide a prompt recovery of services.

Resolved - As of 9:00 a.m. RightFax is running normally and working through the backlog of faxes and notifications. The source of the issue, a corrupt outbound FAX, has been removed.

Investigating - The RightFax electronic fax service is currently experiencing a service interruption.  Email to/from the RightFax service is being held and not sent onward to the intended recipients. IT Services staff are working to resolve the problem.

Monitoring - Internet service to the campus was restored at approximately 12:15 a.m. June 6. There may be further disruptions until the carrier has stabilized the repair.

Identified - At approximately 11 p.m. Thursday, June 5, a fiber cut in downtown Chicago isolated the campus from the Internet. On-campus connections are still working normally but it will not be possible to connect across the campus border until the fiber is repaired. The responsible carrier is aware of the problem and working on it.
