The regional outage has been resolved by our telecommunications vendor and IT Services confirms restoration of regular inbound calling service.

Monitoring -
We are beginning to see improvement, with most inbound calls operating normally. We are awaiting confirmation from our telecommunications vendor that service has been restored. IT Services will continue to monitor the situation until the vendor confirms full restoration of regular inbound calling service.

Investigating -
Beginning at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 3rd, an issue with inbound calling to campus began. The issue involves fewer than half of the total phone numbers servicing the Campus/Medical Center – resulting in call failure or ringing with no answer before disconnecting. Campus and Medical Center call centers are not impacted by this issue.
IT Services has identified the cause of the issue as a regional outage with one of our telecommunications vendors affecting Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa. We are in contact with the telecommunications vendor, but do not yet have an estimated time for restoration of service.
