Other cosmetic issues may also be present. The vendor is aware of the issue, which is affecting many of their clients; see https://status.fortawesome.com/ for their current status.

Resolved - IT Services has identified the issue with the vendor that users may encounter when logging into subset of services using SSO (Single Sign-On). A fix has been applied and impacted services - including Workday - have been restored.

Monitoring - As of 12 noon, AIS, Reporting, and authentication services are working normally. The Library card catalog system is expected to be working normally by 12:30 p.m. IT Services will continue to monitor the load to confirm that the problem is fully resolved.

Identified - At approximately 10:40 a.m. this morning, an unexpectedly large network load on some application services began causing intermittent service outages for several services, including authentication services, AIS, reporting services, and the Library card catalog. IT Services technicians are working on normalizing the load and restoring normal service.

Resolved - IT Services monitored the uchicago-secure and eduroam wireless networks over the weekend and has not observed a reoccurrence of the stability/performance issues with the authentication infrastructure from Friday.

Users experiencing issues with the campus wireless networks should contact the IT Services Service Desk via https://its.uchicago.edu/support/ for routine assistance.

Monitoring - IT Services has completed investigation and analysis of the uchicago-secure and eduroam wireless networks. The stability/performance issue with the authentication infrastructure from this morning appears to no longer be an issue. IT Services will continue to monitor for the issue.

Investigating - IT Services began receiving reports at approximately 8:30 a.m. concerning connecting to the uchicago-secure and eduroam wireless networks. We have continued receiving a handful of reports steadily as the morning has progressed and are investigating a stability/performance issue with the authentication infrastructure servicing these wireless networks.

Resolved - Microsoft has confirmed the deployment of the fix and that Outlook on the Web is once again working as intended with attachments and images. If users are still experiencing the issue, please log out and log back in to affected devices for the changes to take effect.

Microsoft confirms that the fix is continuing to saturate throughout the affected environment, although the process is taking longer than expected. Identified - Beginning on Monday, April 1 at approximately 9:00 AM, some users may have started being intermittently unable to download attachments or view embedded images in Outlook on the web. A recent update Microsoft deployed to Outlook on the web, intended to improve reliability, contained an issue that's preventing attachment downloads and embedded image viewing.

Users may see the following error message when an attachment fails to download:

“Error downloading the file content.”

Downloading attachments and embedded image viewing may succeed after signing out and then back into Outlook on the web. If available, users can download attachments and view embedded images consistently through the Outlook desktop client.

Microsoft has developed a fix and has begun deployment to the affected environment to remediate impact. Much like how the update last week took time to fully deploy, Microsoft expects this fix deployment will complete by Monday, April 8, 2024 at 4:00 PM CDT.

NOTE: This issue is not related to the March 31 "Office 365 Mailbox Issues".
