Resolved - On further investigation: The Online Editing feature for Box only affects editing through a web browser. Windows and Mac users can work around this issue by opening documents using their locally installed versions of Office; mobile users with an appropriate editing app can edit documents stored on Box through the Box app. Previewing through a web browser works normally. We will continue to work with Box to find a full resolution.

Investigating - UChicago IT Services has received reports that people are having trouble opening Office documents on Box using the “edit online” feature of the Box tools. Box has not sent out a general alert, so we have opened a case with them to investigate the issue.

Resolved - The restore process went more quickly than we anticipated; as of 3 p.m. Chalk is again available.

Due to a problem with Chalk database, changes to course sites, course documents and assignments uploaded between 4:40am and 5:20pm on September 13 may be missing. We advise instructors to double check and allow students resubmit missing assignments.

Update - Chalk continues to undergo emergency maintenance to resolve a data issue. At present time, we expect Chalk to be restored by approximately 5 p.m.

Identified - The Chalk Learning Management System has been taken down for emergency maintenance. We are working to restore the system as quickly as possible.
